About Effective Systems
Greetings! I'm Ray Randolph, owner of Effective Systems. If you've navigated to this page, I assume you would like to know about me and my consulting practice, Effective Systems.
Technical/Manufacturing Background
I graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA in 1978 with a degree in Chemistry. For the first 7 years of my career, I worked in the engineering department of a respiratory therapy equipment manufacturer. My responsibilities included both new product design and production support. I specialized in oxygen safety methods and development of technology for highly accurate measurement of gas flow rate.
This experience in the marketplace exposed me to role of technology in manufacturing, the realities of business in a competative environment, and the constraints of operating in the highly-regulated medical field.
Leadership/Administration
In 1986, my church (CrossWay Church of Lancaster) asked me to join their staff as business administrator. For the next 19 years, I served in various leadership roles, including Administrator, Pastor, and 12 years as Senior Pastor. During this season, I learned about leadership dynamics, accounting and budgeting, information and administrative system, and the unique challenges faced by non-profit organizations.
My years of administrative and pastoral leadership in a growing church gave me a keen awareness of the needs and responsibilities of top management. At the same time, I discovered that top leadership isn’t the best use of my abilities.
A Unique Transition
In an age where ministerial burn-out is commonplace, I’ve had the rare joy of handing a healthy church to a Senior Pastor of substantially greater gifting. My fulfillment from serving him since the transition in 2004 has confirmed that I am most effective in a support role. I find it deeply satisfying to invest my experience, analytical mind, and resourcefulness to help leaders of an organization succeed.
Productivity and Effectiveness
Throughout my career, I have found myself particularly interested in these 3 areas:
• Operational and Administrative Efficiency
• Leadership Excellence
• Personal Productivity
I founded "Effective Systems" in 2005 to serve businesses and non-profits in these areas. Since then, I've completed numerous consulting projects for a variety of clients.
